Minimum Industry Safety Training

This course is designed to meet the MIST standard for personnel who will be working within the Oil and Gas Industry, and complies with the requirements laid down by OPITO.
The training is suitable for all new entrants to the Offshore Oil and Gas industry.
No prior achievements are required for entry to the training programme, however it is expected that this programme will be taken after the OPITO approved Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training course (BOSIET).
Aim of the training programme is to promote a common understanding of safety, delegates will gain an awareness of the variety of tasks and the safety risks to be found on Offshore Installations. The course is structured to give theoretical and practical training to the delegate in five modules.
Delegates will undertake instruction and gain knowledge in the following subjects.

Major Accident Hazards
Workplace Hazards and Personal Safety
Risk Management
Control of Work
Helicopter Safety
Both written and practical tests are used to assess delegates understanding of the defined OPITO standards learning outcomes.

Once delegates are deemed competent against the defined learning outcomes they will be issued an OPITO approved Minimum Industry Safety Training certificate which is valid for 4 years
