Maritime Basic Safety Training

5 Days
This combination of MCA approved training courses is intended to meet the provision and Basic Safety Training for all seafarers, as required in section A-VI/1 of the STCW code, to meet the specified standards of competence. Training consists of four modules delivered over five days and meets the STCW code
Prior experience is not required for those embarking on this training
The aim of the training is to deliver all required elements of STCW Basic Safety Training delivered in both theoretical and practical modules, each training element will be assessed by qualified assessors to meet the competence requirements of the STCW code. Course structures and contents can be found on individual STCW training course descriptors.
Delegates will undergo practical and theoretical instruction and assessment in the following modules .

Personal Survival Techniques 1 day

Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities 0.5 Day

Elementary First Aid 0.5 Day

Fire Prevention and Fire-Fighting 3 Days
Candidates satisfying the criteria and demonstrating competence on-course will be issued with certificates complying with the STCW Code.
